Overview

Penne is an extruded tube cut on an angle. Each die opening has a central pin that forms the hollow core as the dough flows around it; a rotary knife at the die face then cuts the tubes to length, creating the angled ends.

R.N.’s product artwork lists its penne die in steel and brass, with a production rating of 500 kg per hour. Actual output depends on the extruder, the dough and the operating conditions — confirm the rating for your machine when you enquire.

Applications

  • Penne production in pasta manufacturing units

Dimensions and machine compatibility

Dies are made to fit the die head of your extruder. Share the machine make and model, the die-seat diameter and thickness and the clamping arrangement — or send your existing die or a drawing — so the new die matches your machine.

Customisation options

Die diameter, number of openings and penne size are specified per order.

Maintenance

General guidance: clean the die after every production run, before dough dries inside the openings — soak in warm water and clear residue with soft, non-metallic tools, taking particular care not to scratch PTFE linings. Dry thoroughly before storage. Inspect inserts regularly for wear or damaged linings and replace individual inserts when needed. Always follow any care instructions supplied with your die.
